LoL

I laughed out loud when I realized
that after being rejected
by an ultra religious but science's child
who preferred God's* love to mine,
making me once again wonder about man's mind,
I attracted a beautiful young guy
named.. Jesus!

Surprise!

i guess there is no self consciousness after life
though, i surely know
if there is, it will be a happy surprise
and, if it is global, it will hyper excite

when i die

when i die, i wanna be burned and my ashes fly in the sky.
No, in the universe i prefer so that they spread
until where dragons live and i can now think
that they might feel what my mind can never reach.
Just the thought to be part of the cosmic microworld
makes me feel hope for an endless ideas' world.

one night in Les Flors

one night in Les Flors.. while preparing the presentation for next day's journal club.. saw her flatmate skyping about work with his manager, and said
-- you are working at 11 o'clock in the night??!!
-- you are also working.
-- my work is different, is science!
and suddenly she realized that she doesn't even concider it as work but as the most normal thing she could do at that time.
It is not working, but way of living! and mixed thoughts crossed her mind.. like.. yes that's nice, this is the way it should be! or like.. is this "healthy"? and went back on reading..

questions

Let us suppose that there is a man in an isolated environment.*
There is nothing to see by vision, nothing to feel by tactition, nothing to hear by audition, nothing to smell by olfaction and nothing to taste by gustation.
Would this man be able to feel temperature, happiness, pain, hope, love, etc.? Would he be self-aware?
Certainly other senses and feelings are dependent of the so called the traditional five senses. But, could they exist independently?
Due to memory and the functional development of his brain until the moment we remove him from normal conditions, they could. As they do exist in normal conditions, during the so called resting state. But again, what is that makes us recall, think, imagine?
And, if he were in a such isolated system, without ever being exposed to any external stimulus, from the first moment of his existence, could they?
And, if they could, what would this mean?
That the stimulus is internal coming from the mind?
meaning that mind is beyond, although related to, the brain?
What is that would make the neurons fire?

*of course in order for the person to be alive, oxygen and nutrients are needed. Thus, the environment can not be totally isolated. But, let us suppose that we could provide these supplies in the most non-interactive way.

In the dizziness of life
you wander alone
and many people you meet
Others more attractive, others repellent
Others understandable, others unacceptable,
for you, because for others normal
Each one special
A potential source of gold
even if you supply it
Choose companionship and let it choose you too.
And if you want someone a little bit closer to you
remember
no matter how much you think you want it
two are needed for the ideal one
and if this is complicated for you
accept the identity one equals one.
